The so called differences in
the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had eventually come to the fore on
Sunday with reports that a handful of senior leaders had decided to stay away from the official
swearing-in ceremony
of all the newly-appointed office-bearers of TDP held at NTR Bhavan.
Chandrababu Naidu had taken charge as the president
The
TDP floor leader of Telangana legislative assembly and Palakurthi MLA Errabelli
Dayakar Rao, was reportedly conspicuously absent at this function where Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu
Naidu had taken charge
as the president of TDP’s central committee and administered oath for the
members of the state committees of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Senior
leaders like E Peddy Reddy , the convener of TDP election committee as well as Mandava
Venkateswar Rao and Kishan Yadav were reportedly among other leaders who had given a miss to this
function.
Sources
say that Dayakar Rao was upset over the Naidu's decision in inducting his rival Revuri
Prakash Reddy into the recently announced central committee, and the fact that his own position has
been more or less
restricted to a member of politburo.
Dayakar Rao is also reportedly unhappy that his post of working president post was given to Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy , the main accused in the cash-for-vote case. Peddy Reddy is also miffed that he hasn’t been selected as the vice-president of Telangana unit. Kishan Yadav also seems to be unhappy since his position had gone to Gopinath.
