NASDAQ-listed and one of the leading networking solutions provider Netgear is reportedly exploring its options to 'Make in India' which involves forging a partnership with Foxconn, that is running a manufacturing unit at Sri City ­ in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

It is an integrated business city and according to Netgear chairman and chief executive officer Patrick Lo the US-based Netgear will be a fourth big-ticket global company which will set foot at the Foxconn's manufacturing unit in Sri City after companies like Gionee, Xiaomi and ASUS.


The company believes that since it will be near Chennai which has port all the right elements would fall in place. Since the company is considered to be very closely aligned with Foxconn, it would be doing its manufacturing here.


Netgear currently has two manufacturing units in the world, in China and Vietnam which are again in partnership with Foxconn, he added. The company is keen on its manufacturing base in India which is one of the fastest growing economies among Asian markets.
