Extremely heavy rains lashed several parts of city on Thursday night, paralyzing normal life and inundating many low-lying areas of the city, power supply was snapped in many localities. 
  Heavy rains and cloud burst on Thursday night disrupted normal life in the city of hyderabad, knee-deep water in many localities, intentional power outage in some areas caused trouble to many dwellers in the city. 
Balkapur Nala breached in midnight due to heavy inflow of rainwater, resulting in water entering many homes in MS makhta, Mayor along with GHMC officials visited the area, and assured help to the people. Two teams of disaster management was deployed. 
   
Trees fell on electric poles resulting in disruption of power supply, Osmania hospital had a black out since 3:00 am. Although in some areas power supply was intentionally snapped as a precautionary measure. Roads turned into streams in most parts of city.   As per information from weather bureau, hyderabad on average received 11 to 15 centimetres of rainfall on Thursday night. Areas like Gudimalkapur and Asifnagar received the highest rainfall in tune of 15 centimetres. Rescue efforts were carried on till morning in the city. 
 
As a matter of coincidence, 111 years ago in 1908 on same day 27 September massive musi floods occurred, about 10,000 people lost their lives.
