Why dussehra is celebrated on end of the Navratri 

Dussehra is celebrated with utmost fervour and enthusiasm, according to Hindu religious book Ram defeated Lanka king Ravana, hence the victory is celebrated as festival.

    dussehra is celebrated across the country on October 8, the festival is celebrated to mark the victory celebration of Lord Ram over evil king of Lanka called Ravana. Ravana kidnapped the wife of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita was taken to Lanka by Ravana.  Interestingly the dussehra falls on the end of Navratri.

      On September 29 navratri started, nine days festival ends in Oct 07, very next day is Dussehra, durga puja also ends on a before dussehra after which Durga idols will be immersed in water bodies.

    According to mythology, Goddess Durga killed demon Mahishasura on Navratri, hence the victory of good over evil is celebrated during Navratri. dussehra is celebrated on tenth day of vijaya dashami, it is believed that Lord Ram went to war after worshipping goddess Durga as advised by Lord vishnu. 

      Lord Ram won the war on next day of Navami, hence dussehra is celebrated on this day.
