Seven places to watch dussehra celebration in India 

Dussehra is celebrated in different ways in different parts of our country, Customs, rituals may differ but ethos of festival remains the same.

    Kullu dussehra is unique in its celebration, local folks carry idols of god on their heads from different places to reach the ground to meet their main god, Lord Raghunath. Seven day long festivities have lot of song and dance

     Navratri in Gujarat, dussehra is referred as navratri here, dressed in traditional attire they perform dance called Garba. The all night Garba dance continues for nine nights.

     Dussehra in delhi is celebrated based on terms of Ramayana, here they gather in huge numbers to burn the effigy of evil king Ravana, cracker and lights lit up the ambience, Ramleela play, a depiction of Lord Rama win over Ravana is performed.

     Dussehra in varanasi is great experience, here the celebration is almost same as Delhi, Ramleela play is famous here in Ramnagar. People from neighboring states throng to watch epic depiction of Ramleela play.

     In mysore dussehra is referred as Dasara,  ten days long festivities have the Royal palace lit up with lights, iconic elephant procession from the palace is a great thing to watch.

    kolkata dussehra or durga puja is nine days celebration, Pandals are created for goddess Durga, song, dance continues everyday for nine days. On last day that is vijaya dashami the idols are immersed in Ganga.

   Dussehra of Barara have the tallest effigy of Ravana, this town is close Ambala, every year the tallest Ravana effigy is burned with grand fervour.
