OnlinePokerNews.in, India’s premier poker news portal has announced first-of-its-kind poker challenge for the young Indian poker players wherein they can compete to win $10,000 for the World’s biggest poker tournament. Starting 7th January 2016, the player inducted into the OPN Challenger Series will be provided an initial bankroll of Rs 25,000 and put to a test of their poker skills in online cash games and tourneys as well as live poker tournaments. A uniquely designed leaderboard will measure their performance till 30th April 2016 and the topper of this leaderboard will be rewarded with the $10,000 to play the World’s biggest poker tournament in Las Vegas this year.
5 Indian players as in Jaideep Sajwan, Vinay B, Abhinav Mahajan, Aashray Arood and Niwesh Sharma have been introduced in this competition initially while others have an option to apply and enter this series by 29th January. A team of OPN will select 5 players for the Challenger Series during the Deltin Poker Tournament presented by Adda52 from Jan 21 – 26 in Goa.
Each player will get an initial bankroll of Rs 25,000 on Adda52.com which they can use to play cash games of any stake level as well the online tourneys. In cash games, the no. of net wins (all non-heads-up hands) will be recorded as a performance parameter while in online tourneys, the points earned on the tournament leaderboard will be considered as a measure of skill. Meanwhile, the OPN Challengers will also travel to the live tournaments in India and their In-the-money (ITM) finishes will be taken into account as the 3rd parameter of the OPN Challenger Series leaderboard.
