england won the fifth and final test of ashes series comprehensively, they beat australia by 135 runs, Matthew wade century went in vain, as other australian batsmen couldn’t survive lethal english bowling attack. england managed to square the series, but australia retained the ashes urn.

england put on a commanding performance on fourth day of final test, before jam packed stadium on Sunday. england started the day’s play with tail enders trying to weather the initial storm by australian bowlers, their apathy ended quite early with a target of 399 to win.

australia didn’t had a rollicking start as misery of their openers continued, first to go was Harris, he was bowled superbly by broad, the off stump took a walk, Warner poor performance continued, he got out cheaply, an ashes series perhaps he would like to forget.

Steve Smith was only hope Aussies were relying on, but unfortunately for australia, he went without even scoring a 50, late middle order heroics by Matthew wade who scored a brilliant ton, failed to take his team through, rest of australian batsmen failed to make a mark. Joe root superb captaincy and excellent field placing helped england beat australia comprehensively. Though the series was levelled, Australian team retained the ashes urn.
