Reportedly after 4 years of saying no to one of Test cricket's biggest innovations, india are all set to play the 1st ever Day and night Test against bangladesh from november 22. Meanwhile 8 Test-playing nations have played a total of 11 Day-night Tests so far. india and bangladesh are all set to become the 9th and 10th cricketing nations to get a taste of top tier pink ball cricket. Furthermore Eden Gardens in kolkata is gearing up to host the historic Test match. Further the iconic venue which has hosted some of the most memorable matches in the history of the sport is all set to be part of another important chapter in indian cricket.
It was led by newly appointed bcci president sourav ganguly, the preparations for the 1st ever pink ball Test in the country are going on in full swing. Apparently Eden Gardens has turned pink well ahead of the pink-ball Test. Meanwhile the stands have been lit with pink lights, a pink colored balloon is flying over the stadium in Kolkata.
Moreover the historic matches will kick start with army paratroopers flying into the Eden Gardens to hand over a pink ball each to the two captains just before the toss and hence this will be followed by the ringing of the customary Eden Bell by bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. Perhaps several former cricketers, including India's Fab Five, are expected to be present on Day 1 of the Test along with big names from other sports, including pv sindhu and Vishwanathan Anand.
