Reportedly KL rahul hit his maiden ODI hundred in new zealand when the india wicketkeeper-batsman got past the 3-figure mark in the 3rd ODI against the hosts on Tuesday. Meanwhile KL rahul brought up his 4th ODI hundred in 104 balls as he anchored India's charge in Mount Maunganui after another top-order failure. rahul also became only the 2nd indian batsman after suresh raina (vs zimbabwe in 2015) to score a hundred while batting at No. 5 or lower in new zealand in ODI cricket.

Reportedly india have already conceded the 3-match series 0-2 and are battling for pride at the Bay Oval. Furthermore having missed out on opportunities to hit hundreds in the series against australia and the 1st ODI in Hamilton wherein he was unbeaten on 88, KL rahul made sure he got the big one on Tuesday. Rahul's previous ODI hundred came in december 2019 when he hit a 104-ball 102 against the west indies at home. KL Rahul's rich vein of form has come at the right time for india who are struggling without 1st-choice openers rohit sharma and shikhar dhawan in New Zealand.

Moreover on tuesday, india got off to a horror start losing mayank agarwal (1) and captain virat kohli inside the 1st 7 overs after they were asked to bat by Kane Williamson who returned after missing the 1st 2 ODIs. KL rahul, who has been asked to bat at No. 5 in ODIs, has once again showcased he is ready to be flexible by coming up with a well-paced innings after walking into bat when the team was in a spot of bother.
