Accordingly the women's indian cricket team has sealed a three runs victory against new zealand in the group stage match of the icc t20 World Cup. This victory made team india to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament. Team India's opponent is yet to be known and before that india will play its last league match against sri lanka on march 14th.

 

Meanwhile in yesterday's match, new zealand won the toss and put india to bat first. India's opener Shafali Verma who is in great form continued her hitting. She smashed 46 of 34 balls which included four fours and three sixes. However the indian middle order collapsed as Harmanpreet and others failed to keep the scoreboard moving. india concluded their innings with the bat for 133 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

 

Moreover in reply new zealand did not make a great start. They lost three wickets for 34 runs and were looking in a spot of bother. Maddy Green, Katey Martin and Amelia Kerr tried to counter the indian bowling but in vain. indian bowlers kept the line tight and bowled some brilliant overs. Finally india won by four runs as new zealand made 129 runs in their 20 overs. Opener Shafali Verma bagged Player of the Match award.
