Reportedly former india captain and Board of Control for cricket in india (BCCI) president sourav ganguly said the apex body of indian cricket might not have to go for pay cuts if the indian Premier League (IPL) is held at some point in time. sourav ganguly said if the 13th season of the IPL gets shelved due to the Covid-19 pandemic, then the bcci is set to face loss of around Rs 4000 crore. The IPL 2020 was scheduled to get underway from march 29 but it has been suspended until further notice due to the pandemic. The lockdowns that have been enforced in the country and across the globe has seen the IPL miss the April-May deadline.

The future of IPL remains uncertain, considering the travel restrictions put in place in various parts of the globe. It remains to be seen if the bcci can find another window in what could turn out to be a cramped cricket schedule when the sport returns.
