Reportedly former pakistan captain shahid Afridi said he has tested positive for Covid-19. Afridi said he had been feeling unwell since thursday and had a constant body ache following which he decided to get tested.Afridi has been out on the field with his charity organization shahid Afridi Foundation and on saturday he revealed he has tested positive for coronavirus which is a global pandemic.

 

"I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately, I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah (sic)," Afridi said in a social media message. shahid Afridi played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 t20 Internationals for pakistan from 1998 to 2018.

 

Moreover pakistan have been among the worst-hit countries due to the Covid-19 pandemic. More than 130,000 people have been tested positive for Covid-19 and the virus has led to more than 2,500 deaths in the country as of june 13. Notably, Afridi is not the first pakistan cricketer to contract the virus. Former pakistan opener Taufiq Umar had tested positive for Covid-19 in May. Former pakistan first-class cricketer, Zafar Sarfaraz also tested positive in April. Sarfaraz, however, was not able to recover as he died due to the virus.
