Coutdown for Rio Olympics 2016 is already underway and athletes from across the world are making their final attempt to qualify for the world's biggest sports event. 


Sportspersons from India too are working hard to make their mark at the event. In the meantime India is planning to seek wild card for its top woman boxer Mary Kom for the Olympics. 


India is trying its best as she failed to qualify for the olympics. 33 year old Mary Kom (51kgs) missed the cut when she lost in the second round of the last month's world championships which was the second and final qualifying tournament for women. 


Mary Kom was required to reach semifinals but she failed to make it in the Astana,Kazakhstan. Kishen Narsi,Chairman of AIBA said they are trying to get wild card but added many from other countries too will apply and AIBA will examine before taking any decision.


AIBA refers Mary Kom as Magnificent Mary and is a five time world champion and a bronze medalist from London Olympics. Mary Kom planned to retire after Rio Olympics.
