Be it Pune, be it Bengaluru, the Australian spinners once again shocked the Indian batsmen with their spin mantra where India was all out for 189 runs. Thanks to the Australian off spinner  Lyon who took 8 wickets just giving away 50 runs. The Virat men could not stick to the crease when Lyon was given the ball to bowl.

Mitchell Starc dismissed Abhinav Mukund for a duck after India opted to bat.

Earlier winning the toss India elected to bat. Opener Abhinav Mukund who made a come back in tests  after 5 years disappointed. He fell for a duck in starc’s bowling. Pujara  (17)who came one down carried the tempo before he became a victim to Lyon just before lunch. Post lunch the captain Virat Kohli came into bat. The captain once again failed to deliver a huge score. Virat fell to Lyon in the form of LBW just scoring 12 runs to his kitty.

After dismissing Pujara, Lyon got the big wicket of Virat Kohli post Lunch to dent India and leave them at 88 for 3.

Ajinjya Rahane who had been a favorite batsman of Virat too disappointed with his 17 runs. Lyon once again came into act. The triple century hero Karun Nair scored 26 runs which remained the second highest individual score in todays Indian innings. Ashwin(7) Wriddhiman Saha(1)and Jadeja(3) were all dismissed by Lyon for a single digit score.

Ajinkya Rahane was stumped for 17 giving Lyon his third wicket.

It Was the opener K.L.Rahul who came to the resuce to score 90 runs where half of the runs on the board came from his bat. On one end the wickets kept falling and at the other end the local boy K.L.Rahul played his cool before he becoming a prey to Lyon.

David Warner and Matt Renshaw scored an unbeaten 40 for the first wicket to keep the Indian bowlers at bay.

After India was packed up for 189 runs the Visitors began their innings. David Warner is on 23 while Renshaw is on 14. Overall on day 1 at stumps Australia scored 40 thus trailing by 149 runs.
