Australia Cricket Captain Steve Smith and Vice-Captain David Warner stepped down from their respective roles for the rest of the Third test and series against South Africa after Ball-tampering issue. However, both Smith and Warner will play the last two days of the test match without any leadership responsibilities.

Tim Paine would be the new captain of the team. The long-term future of Smith and Warner will be decided very soon. Warner is also part of the "group" and Smith refused to name other names. Cameron Bancroft was the main accused who was charged with ball tampering by the ICC and he also made a public confession alongside Smith.

A press statement reads, "This Test match needs to proceed, and in the interim, we will continue to investigate this matter with the urgency that it demands." South Africa are likely to win the third test and go 2-1 in the series.
