Sunrisers Hyderabad had a decent start, as  Saha and Shikhar Dhawan began hitting the bowlers well, until Markande struck, removing Wridhiman Saha (22).

Skipper Kane Williamson came in and before even could get settled, was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman, and Markande struck again, to remove the settle Dhawan (45) who was threatening to finish the match early.

With the Sunrisers continuously losing wickets at regular intervals, and Markande, the pick of Mumbai bowlers (4/23) further claimed Manish Pandey and Shakib Al Hasan, leaving Sunrisers reeling at 107/5. However, despite Mustafizur Rahman claiming 3 scalps and Bumrah picking 2 and threatening to rob the victory from SRH who were at a point at 137/9. Stanlake and Deepak Hooda held nerves, and took the match to a thrilling victory for the SRH off the last ball, as they finished 147/9, and Rashid Khan was adjudged player of the match for his tight spell of 4/13 which restricted the Mumbai Indians.
