The 24th match in Vivo IPL 2018, between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, began with the RCB batting first. While Skipper Kohli exited early, opener Quinton De Kock went on to score some classy shots, with the ever-dependable Ab De Villiers for the company. As they forged a partnership, the RCB was placed comfortably, gaining an early advantage over CSK.

While De Kock departed, scoring 53(37b, 1x4,4x6), De Villiers plundered the CSK bowlers, smashing sixes and boundaries all over the park, before departing scoring a stunning 68(30b, 2x4,8x6). With a quickfire 32(17) from Mandeep Singh, RCB reached a formidable 205/8 in 20 overs. While the Chennai super kings innings began on a dangerous note, with opener Watson claimed early, Raina too followed suit to the pavilion soon.

However, opener Ambati Rayudu carried on the fine form from the previous match, and went on to damage the RCB bowlers, despite lacking support from the middle order. He was soon joined by none other than the captain cool MS Dhoni, who patiently gave him company, before he joined the party as well, smashing sixes.

While Rayudu departed scoring  a destructive 82(53b, 3x4,8x6), entered Bravo, who held nerves, scoring few much needed shots, before Dhoni, finished the match in his inimitable style, with a massive six, as he ended scoring an unbeaten 70*(34b, 1x4,7x6), taking CSK to 207/5, and a victory by 5 wickets.
