Sarfraz Ahmed never won the toss in his previous four test matches and when he won the toss and elected to bat, the Pakistan batsmen collapsed like nine pins. Sarfraz took the bold decision to bat on a bright Leeds morning but England ended them for just 174 and England are at 106 for 2 with a meager deficit of 68 runs.

The swing-friendly conditions were totally exploited by England bowlers after the thumping defeat at Lord's last week. Mark Wood has been running out of luck and he was replaced by Woakes in this match.

James Anderson once again led the team from the front and he scalped Sarfraz Ahmed for just 14. Woakes had the classic bouncer-yorker combo and got rid of Hasan Ali and Amir.
