The 4th match of the Asia Cup, between India and Hong Kong, held at Dubai, began with Hong Kong choosing to field after winning the toss. Skipper Rohit Sharma began tenaciously, before being dismissed by Ehsan Khan after scoring a shaky 23(22). On the other end, Shikhar Dhawan played a composed and patient knock, carefully picking the bad deliveries and scoring boundaries.

Ambati Rayudu joined force with Dhawan, and the duo slowly yet steadily built a resilient stand after India was 45/1 at a stage, and after an impressive 116 run partnership, Rayudu 60(70b, 3x4, 2x6) was dismissed by Ehsan Nawaz, as India was 161/2.  Dinesh karthick and Dhawan kept the score ticking, and soon, Dhawan scored a ton, as he powered his way to a towering knock of 127(120b,15x4,2x6) before  Shah dismissed him.

Dhoni shockingly departed for a duck, and Karthik was out for 33(38), as India was reeling at 5/248, before Kedhar Jadhav did some damage control, scoring a slow 28(27) as India reached a respectable 285/7 at the end of 50 overs. Hong Kong began their innings on a controlled note, as both the openers Nizakat Khan and Anshuman Rath set the right start for the team.

Nikazat and Anshuman carefully and steadily set up a partnership and forged a  stunning 14 run partnership for the first wicket, before Anshuman fell for 73(97), and soon after, Nikazat followed suit, missing a well-deserved ton, getting dismissed for 92(115). Chahal and Ahmed picked up some quick wickets, as Hong Kong, which was once threatening to steal the match from India's hands, was reeling at 240/7.

With no pinch hitters to the aid of Hong Kong, even as Ehsan Khan scored 22, Hong Kong innings ended at a valiant fightback total of 259/8, as India limped to a lucky win by 26 runs. Khaleel Ahmed picked up 3/48, while Chahal scalped 3/46.
