The final match of the Asia Cup between India and Bangladesh began with India electing to field after winning the toss. Bangladesh began on a very strong note as the openers Liton Das and Meidy Hasan frustrated the Indian bowlers, scoring runs at will and building a steady partnership. However, Kedhar Jadhav struck to dismiss Meidy Hasan for 32(59).

However, Liton Das was in no mood to depart, as, despite wickets falling at the other end, he kept scoring runs sensibly,  and Soumya Sarkar offered him some support at the tail with his cameo of 33(45) before being dismissed by Dhoni in a stunning runout. Liton was finally dismissed after scoring a resilient century, of 121(117b,12x4,2x6), ultimately lifting Bangladesh to 222 in 48.3 overs.

Bangladesh which was 120/0 at a point, had ended in a disappointing fashion losing 10 wickets for just 102 runs, thanks to Kuldeep's 3/45, and Jadhav's 2/41. India began their batting and lost opener Shikar Dhawan early for 15(14), and Mashrafe Mortaza scalped Rayudu sooner.

Skipper Rohit Sharma departed after scoring a calm and composed 48(55b,3x4,3x6), and then Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni joined hands to forge a partnership and started scoring good shots and keeping the Bangla bowlers at bay with their steady partnership. However Dinesh Karthik was dismissed for 37(61), and Dhoni was joined by Kedhar Jadhav.

Bangla bowlers threatened as they scalped the prized wicket of MS Dhoni for 36(67), and India was struggling at 160/5. However, Ravindra Jadeja 23(33) and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar 21(31) laid a solid partnership before being dismissed, but Jadhav 24(27)* held nerves to lead India to a thrilling last-ball victory by 3 wickets as India scored 223/7, winning the Asia Cup.
