The day 3 of third test of India's tour of Australia, began with Australia resuming on 8/0, and soon, Ishant Sharma gave the first breakthrough removing Finch for 8(36), and sooner, Harris was removed by Bumrah for 22(35).  Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh tried to resurrect with a stand.

However, Jadeja dismissed Khawaja for 21(32) and Bumrah struck again to scalp Marsh 19(61). Skipper Tim Paine and Cummins stood to forge a mini partnership, before Shami dismissed Cummins for 17(48), and soon after, Paine followed for 22(85), dismissed by Bumrah.
