The day 5 of boxing day test between India and Australia began with Aussies resuming on 258/8, with Cummins on 61 and Lyon at the crease. However, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Cummins soon after as Aussie hope of delaying a victory for India was finished.



Cummins was out after scoring a valiant 63(114) and soon, Ishant Sharma returned to dismiss Nathan Lyon as well for 7(50), as Aussies were bundled out for 261 in their second innings, as India won the boxing day test by 137 runs.



Jasprit Bumrah had best figures of 3/53 and was the man of the match for his overall figures of 9/86, while Ravindra Jadeja scalped 3/82 and Ishant Sharma had 2/40. With 20 dismissals in the series so far, Rishab Pant has the maximum dismissals by an Indian wicketkeeper in a test series for India, while Kohli equaled Saurav Ganguly's record of 11 test wins in away tests. India currently leads the 4 test series 2-1 and have retained the Border - Gavaskar trophy.
