There has been recent news making rounds that in the series presentation ceremony of the ongoing India's tour of Australia, former legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar won't be participating. India's tour of Australia has been named as Border - Gavaskar trophy after former Australian cricketer Allan border and Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar.
However this recent news of Gavaskar's absence has sparked a huge Controversy. This Border Gavaskar trophy name has been in existence since 1996 and the series was named so in Honor of the two cricketing legends who had scored more than 10000 runs in tests.
Usually the final trophy presentation ceremony will have either Border or Gavaskar or both being present but this time Gavaskar is not attending as he wasn't invited, but cricket Australia head Sutherland had invited him in May. However the changes in cricket Australia with exit of Sutherland meant the invite didn't reach Gavaskar and now even if invited now, Gavaskar can't be available at the presentation.
