Dave Richardson, the CEO of International Cricket Council (ICC) said that India will be hosting the 2023 world cup and 2021 Champion trophy despite pending clearance in tax exemption Issue. There were doubts about India hosting world cup in 2023 because during 2016 T20 World cup, when ICC asked for tax exemption the Indian government did not provide exemption and this was followed by BCCI being told by ICC to pay more than 150 crores saying that if BCCI does not pay, it will lead to India losing hosting rights.

During an event sealing a 5 years contract with Coke, Dave Richardson said ICC is hopeful of India giving tax exemption and so there's no danger of India losing hosting rights. Meanwhile Richardson said "There is so much to look forward to. We have two T20 events (Women and Men) in Australia in 2020, followed by the first Test Championship final.

Image result for 2023 World Cup will be in India!

Then we have the Women's World Cup in New Zealand in 2021, Under 19 World Cup. And of course, then we have two events in India the next T20 World Cup at the end of 2021 and the Men's World Cup itself in 2023."
