Indian woman cricketer Smriti Mandhana made history as she scored the fastest half century by an Indian woman cricketer. During the first twenty 20 international match against New Zealand, Smriti achieved the feat, and the match was held at Wellington. Smriti smashed a superb knock, as New Zealand felt tough to get going with her on crease.
Earlier Kiwis scored 159/4 as India opted to bowl, and later India came to bat, as Smriti was blazing, and scored a whirlwind knock, as she reached her 50 in 24 balls.
However she was ultimately out for 58 in 34 balls, with India still needing 58 runs to win, and she had smashed 7 sixes and three boundaries in her blitzkrieg knock, despite her heroics, India lost the match by 23 runs, as they could reach only 136 runs. Even Indian men's team has lost to the blackcaps by a big margin.
