The second T20 between India and Australia at Bangalore began with Australia winning the toss and deciding to field first. India had a great start with KL Rahul starting on a strong note and he went on to score 47(26) before being dismissed by Counter Nile. Soon after, Dhawan was also dismissed by Behrendorff.

Rishab pant disappointed, but skipper Kohli and Dhoni combined and forged an all-important 100 partnership, as Kohli stayed unbeaten on 72(38), while Dhoni scored a valuable 40(23), as India reached a competitive 190/4. Chasing 191, Australia lost opener Stoinis and Finch early as they were reeling at 22/2.

Short and Maxwell later forged a partnership, before short departed for 40(28). However, Maxwell was on a rampage,  as he scored a blitzkrieg century in just 50 deliveries, as he ended with an unbeaten 113(55)* taking Aussies to 194/3 with 2 balls to spare, winning by 7 wickets.
