The first ODI of Australia's tour of India began with Australia winning toss and batting first and they lost skipper finch early for a duck. However, Usman Khawaja(50) and Stoinis (37) stood firm for a while before being dismissed.



Maxwell (40) tried to resurrect but was out soon before Carey (36) and Counter Nile(28) strived to take Aussies to a respectable 236/7. India lost Shikhar Dhawan early for a duck and skipper Virat Kohli (44) and Rohit Sharma (37) tried to forge a partnership before being dismissed.



Rayudu(13) also disappointed as Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav joined hands, and they stood firm and forged an all essential partnership. Jadhav scored a good 81(87)*, while Dhoni's impressive half-century of 59(72)* took India to 240/4, and a victory by 6 wickets with 10 balls to spare.
