In the recently held third ODI match between India and Australia in Ranchi, India had lost the match by 32 runs, though skipper Virat Kohli had scored a blitzkrieg ton and showed his might of bat.

With every run he scored, he broke and created new records in the match against Aussies. He had become the fastest captain to cross 4000 runs in ODI cricket. Earlier South Africa former captain AB De Villiers held this record which he had achieved in 77 ODI matches, while Kohli had did it in just 63 matches.

Former captain MS Dhoni is in third spot, and Ganguly is in fourth spot. This was the Indian captain's 41st ODI century, and having scored a 95 ball 123, Kohli called it one of his finest innings and was disappointed with the way he was dismissed by Zampa.
