The only Telugu face in Indian international cricket, ambati rayudu had announced retiring from all forms of International cricket with immediate effect. The move comes after Indian team management who preferred Mayank Agarwal as a replacement for an injured Vijay shankar in the World Cup squad.
He was further hurt because he was ignored by the selectors even after the injuries of Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay shankar despite being in the standby list. But then, that came after his controversial tweet after the announcement of World Cup Squad. Selectors said Vijay shankar was picked over Rayudu due to the Three-dimensional advantage he brings in.
Rayudu mocked the statement by tweeting, "Just Ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup". That has enraged the selectors and they denied him a chance further. Sensing that he may not play International cricket further, Rayudu decided to retire. Interestingly, this happened when another Telugu man, MSK prasad is the head of the selection committee.
