Ingredients for Chaunka Matar Recipe

  • Green peas 2 cups

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger chopped 1 inch

  • Green chilli chopped 1

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Garam masala powder ½ teaspoon

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Ginger juliennes for garnishing

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when the seeds change colour, add ginger and green chilli and sauté well.

Step 2

Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, mix well and sauté for ½ a minute.

Step 3

Add green peas and toss to mix. Cook till the green peas are tender.

Step 4

Add salt, garam masala powder and mix well.

Step 5

Add lemon juice and chopped coriander and mix well. Garnish with ginger juliennes and serve hot.
