Story:
After the mediocre outing Bharat earlier this year, macho hero salman khan is back on screen with his action mass entertainer dabangg 3, the third part of his blockbuster series dabangg, and this time around he has teamed up with his wanted director prabhu Deva. Chulbul Pandey is back and this time around, he gets to lock horns with Balli (Sudeep) and this takes Chulbul down the memory lane. Years back, Chulbul was Dhakaad who was in love with Khushi (Saiee) and it was his love for Khushi that transforms him to Chulbul. However, the evil Balli gives a bad end for Chulbul's love story and cut to the present, Balli is still in large and eviler. How Chulbul faces Balli and ultimately wins is what the movie is all about.
Performances:
As the mischievous mass cop Chulbul Pandey, salman khan is in full form and be it his humor-filled body language, the romance in the past or the crazy moves with Sonakshi or the bare body fight in the action-packed climax, this one's a typical Sallu show. sudeep as the antagonist is cast in a cliched role but he excels with dialogue delivery and the action scenes. sonakshi sinha is pretty and does what is required as Rajjo while debutant Saiee Manjrekar makes a fine debut. The rest of the cast does not have much to do.
Technical Departments:
Sajid - Wajid's background score is massy and of their songs, Hud Hud, munna Badnaam Hua, Awara are hum worthy. Cinematography by mahesh Limaye captures the mass action moments perfectly, while editing by Ritesh Soni could have made the movie tighter.
Analysis:
After wanted, prabhu deva has joined hands with salman khan, taking up the responsibility of handling the blockbuster franchise of Dabangg. As a director, prabhu deva delivers a pretty decent entertainer that runs high on its power fuel - salman Khan. Salman's infectious energy is seen all over the screenplay and even the normal moments and dialogues are made massy by him. While how Dhakaad became Chulbul is an interesting aspect, with a predictable screenplay and a usual villain, prabhu deva still maintains the momentum with the template screenplay filled with several goosebumps moments, punch dialogues, action, colorful songs, ultimately leading to two macho men fight and Chulbul emerging the winner. With fun-filled action, mass scenes, and Bhai in full form, prabhu deva gifts salman and fans a perfect christmas gift.
Verdict: Bhai's power leads dabangg 3 to a massive victory.
