Director Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao, known for his remakes of successful movies, like Sudigadu, Annavaram, Dongodu, Suswagatham, Subhakankshalu to name a few, had last delivered a disaster with his Sundarapandian remake Speedunnodu, and this time, he has joined hands with flop heroes Allari Naresh and Sunil, for Silly Fellows, the remake of a Tamil comedy caper. Let's see if the director has succeeded this time, in this team AP Herald's exclusive first on the net review of Silly Fellows.

Allari Naresh plays the right hand of MLA Jacket Janakiram and him along with his friend played by Sunil, lead a carefree life. Naresh falls for Chitra Shukla who aims to be a cop, and situations lead to her becoming a cop, while Naresh gets entangled in a situation where a minister before his death had revealed Janakiram about huge cash hidden, and now the minister's relatives want to acquire the riches, by trying to get the information from Jacket Janaikram, who loses memory. Whether Naresh was able to help find the riches from Janakiram, and whether he united with Chitra Shukla is what Silly Fellows is all about.

Allari Naresh plays the typical happy go lucky youngster and is fine in the fun episodes, while Sunil shows occasional glimpses of the comedian he was in his prime, in several scenes. Jayaprakash Reddy as Jacket generates several genuine laughs, and the two heroines Chitra Shukla and Nandini Rai lay typical eye candies. The rest of the cast including Shankar Melkote, Posani are adequate.

Music by Sri Vasanth fails to impress as neither his songs nor background score impress. Cinematography by Anish Tarun Kumar makes sure Silly Fellows is a colorful entertainer, while the editing by Goutham Raju could have been taut as the first half drags big time. Director Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao, known to remake successful tamil movies, had last tasted success with the Tamizh Padam remake Sudigadu, but failed badly with his , Speedunnodu. Now, he has returned with the remake of Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaran which was an average entertainer by itself, and this time yet again has failed to impress the audience.

While Naresh and Sunil try hard to evoke laughter, they forget the fact that they are both the heroes of the movie, and are mostly focused on the humour part, which they fail at, and ultimately end as funny caricatures. Except for Jacket janakiram character sequence towards the end, with the memory loss episode, none of the tracks evoke genuine laughter, and the heroines too are poorly cast, with none of the, impressing either with carefree acting. Sunil with a beefed physique, tries to evoke occasionally but what we get to see is a pale shadow of the star comedian he was once. With mediocre music and editing, Silly Fellows is what you should not even watch when you are extremely silly and free. Silly Fellows is another disappointing venture for hidden and Sunil.
