Kamalhaasan is an Narcotics Bureau Officer who undergoes a drug heist along with his friend Yugee Sethu. They escape with the drugs. Prakash Raj is the owner of the coke and he is the owner of night club named 'INSOMNIA'. He kidnaps Kamalhaasan's son in hopes to reclaim his property. Kamalhaasan has one whole night to return the stash and save his son. Did Kamal saved his son ? What happened to the stash ? Who is the actual criminal behind all these ? Watch out the movie in nearby screens to find out the answers.

Kamalhaasan's performance is physical and real, his face is often twisted in pain or sadness, or violent rage. His acting impressed me more than all other aspects of the movie. The setting takes place almost entirely in a nightclub, where Kamalhaasan is searching for his son while trying to search for the hidden drugs which he must give to Prakash Raj in exchange for his boy. Most of the movie takes place inside pub and the crow on the dance floor, stairs, and bathrooms all play significant parts in the movie.

Prakash Raj is once again back as a bad guy. So far he has been doing character roles and now he is back to what he is best. Trisha is cute as a cop. But she doesn't do much other than keeping a stone face. Kishore deserves sheer applause for his scintillating performance. The actor once again proves his mettle. Asha Sarath hardly appears in the movie. Rest of the cast doesn't have much to offer.

The movie is tight, exciting, down right dirty action, and still very realistically told. Although this is not an entirely original concept, the execution of the story is expertly done. Within the first minute of the film, we're thrown into the action, which sets the tone for the rest of the movie. Sanu Varghese's cinematography deserve kudos. The night shots were perfectly made. Shan Mohammed has made some crisp editing. Ghibran's music sets the ambiance. Leave logic aside, this is a fun movie to watch. The action scenes are very realistic looking and feel very brutal. Instead of going with meticulously choreographed punches and kicks all the stunts are made in a simple approach.

Kamalhaasan who has been brilliant always has delivered the goods once again. Even though the movie is not thrilling just like Papanasa, the movie still has something to offer. The movie is a roller coaster of bad decisions and bad people, which is filmed in dirty raw, grainy film, stressed music, with hand-held camera. You might enjoy this movie.

Overall, You will love this movie if you love Hollywood movies like Die Hard or Taken !
