Selvaraghavan was a renowned director in Kollywood. But for past few years the director is losing his momentum and he is keeping a low profile. He was last seen in 'Irandam Ulagam' and that was a huge failure.
He refrained from directing movies. But he penned script for 'Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam'. After a brief hiatus he started a project titled 'Kaan' and this movie marks reunion of Selvaraghavan and Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Geetanjali Selvaraghavan and Siddharth Rao produce the movie together on behalf of Glo Studios. Last week Selvaraghavan said that the project was called off and he said financial constraints were the reason. But now we hear that the actual reason was Simbhu himself.
According to sources, things were not smooth between STR and Selvaraghavan. STR was asked to lose some weight for the role and he denied to do so. Some rifts have occurred between them. Selvaraghavan on other hand has faced some financial problems. To overcome both the problems, Dhanush has adviced his brother to stop the project and do another movie in small budget. Responding to his words, Selvaraghavan called off the movie.
