Even as Ram Gopal Varma shocked everyone by announcing the film release in a sudden manner, Civil Court in Bengaluru on Thursdaay granted stay on the film release. Sources say Muttulakshmi, wife of Veerappan filed case against the filmmakers and Court after hearing the petition, stayed the film.
According to sources is is coming out that Ram Gopal Varma as wily as along with his shrewd team got rid of the case and ensured the film's release will not be disturbed by such petty issues.
Film is a biopic on Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan and his wife Muttulakshmi approached court accusing filmmakers of not obtaining permission to make the film in other languages except in Kannada. Film stars Sandeep Bharadwaj in lead role of Veerappan while Shivraj Kumar will be seen as encounter specialist. Parul Yadav and Yagna Shetty are the heroines in the film.
