'Bajirao Mastani' is directed and bank-rolled by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra essay the female protagonist roles along with male lead role Ranveer Singh. The movie is said to be Bhansali's dream project and it is all set to release on 18th December.
Now regarding the movie, Priyanka Chopra has spoken up. She said, "I just did movie for this man. He is none other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He narrated me the script and I just signed it without second thoughts.
Most of them ask me, 'Brajirao' is Ranveer and 'Mastani' is Deepika, so what am I doing. Let me clear one fact. I was the first one to get inside the team before Deepika or Ranveer. He clearly needed me in the movie. Kashibai's character is some what heart breaking and it is a feminine character.
The role was so challenging and this is a very special movie. It is close to me. I am just excited to be part of the movie. Kashibai is first wife of Peshwa general Bajirao I. This is not an easy role to play. I have to learn the Maharashtrian accent right and there were lots of dramatic scenes."
