Film industry is always male dominated and women will be always looked down. Male chauvinism is predominant and not only aspiring but also top actress face humiliation from stars, directors, producers etc. But they suffer all those insults silently as they wish to realise their dream of getting successful on silver screen.

All hell broke loose when Salman Khan who is known for his headstrong and arrogant attitude shocked all with his rape comments. Sharing his ordeal during shooting for Sultan, he came with the following rubbish. He said “You look like a fraud if you haven’t trained properly. You need to put in those many hours as any wrestler does and that’s what we have done.

Now when you are shooting, you are continuously wrestling for six hours. So, if I have to pick up a 120 kg person, and drop him down, I got to do it 10 times. In the wrestling match, it happens once or twice. Ten times from five different angles for six-seven hours, either I am picking up or throwing him or he is picking me up and throwing me. It is like the most difficult thing. When I used to walk out of the ring, it was actually like a raped woman walking out. I couldn’t walk straight. I would eat and then head right back to training. That wouldn’t stop.”

The raped woman comment hurt everyone but the so called chamchas and die hard fans of Salman Khan are supporting him vehemently for their own vested interests. Many Bollywood celebrities supported Salman as they have to do films with him and without his support they cannot survive in Bollywood. Those who are opposing Salman are facing abuses on and off line.

Some of the actresses in various industries shared their shocking experiences.

Bollywood

Sometime back Sabina, daughter of yesteryear actress Amita was teased and heckled by superstar Rajesh Khanna and director IV.Sashi on the sets of Anokha Rishta. When Sabhina protested and went to press her career was terminated.
When Nana Patekar misbehaved with Tanushree Dutta, she protested boldly and this resulted in her kicked out of Bollywood. Recently an actress was propositioned by her co star and when she protested he began harassing her. No one opposed when he humiliated her in the sets.

An actress on anonymity says  “It’s man’s world in this industry. Actors sit with their cronies on the sets discussing women’s anatomies and what they’d like to do to them. Given the scenario, Salman’s rape comment is not really a big deal. We’ve seen and heard much worse.”

In one song Sau Tarah Ke from Dishoom, Jacqueline Fernandez was seen in skimpy outfit with a dagger hanging right below her waist. People expect actresses to be voiceless. Chitrangada walked out of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz after a spat with the director Kushan Nandy. Kushan asked her “Get literally on top of Nawaz (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). Tange ragdo and sex karo.”

Tollywood

Tollywood too is not new to male chauvinism. Balakrishna though being an MP came with shockers about the heroines. He said “I have always tried to do different roles. If I simply run behind the actresses, my fans will be disappointed. They like it when I either kiss the girl or make her pregnant.” which resulted in huge controversy. Radhika Apte vowed not to star in Tollywood films as it is male dominated.

Ali is known for his cheap and vulgar comments on all at various functions. He said Anushaka a 'hot jalebi' and added “In Billa Anushka showed off her thighs, and I’ve become a big fan of hers since that movie…,”

Mohan Babu was angry when Raj Tarun, writer Diamond Ratnam, director Nageswara Reddy targeted Sonarika Bhrodia in a cheap manner by asking her hugs. Mohan Babu blasted them for their behavior.
