There is a talk that, the movie is a clear copy of Tamil movie 'Julie Ganapathi' which was directed by Late. Balu Mahendra. A leading producer has conveyed media that he has got the remake and dubbing rights of the Tamil movie and if Charusheela is released with same subject, he will face huge losses.
He also alleged that makers of Charusheela violated the copyright act by plagiriasing the Tamil film story. Rashmi is tight lipped about this issue and she is into another new controversy which gains more attention.
