Taapsee Pannu was not a South Indian actress. Even though she works mostly in South Indian movies, she is a North Indian. She was born and raised in Delhi. The actress is getting a big release in Bollywood today and the movie is already showered with positive critics.
During a recent interview, she revealed that she has faced harassment and was touched in inappropriate place by Delhi men when she was a college going teenager. Speaking to a leading daily, Taapsee said, "Eve teasing is a common thing used to happen in Delhi. I travelled in DTC buses while going to college. I got my car when I was 19 and before that I was travelling by DTC buses.
And eve-teasing used to happen almost daily. Not just that, I have been touched inappropriately in DTC buses. Rubbed at wrong places while in a bus. It is too common and also happened to me.
But our upbringing is in such a way that we are committing a wrong. Don't do this, Don't wear such and Don't travel there. We are fed such beliefs and thoughts. So when it happened with me, I started running as if it was my mistake."
