What do you think a budding director does when he is offered to direct King Nagarjuna? Most of the answers would be 'He will jump in joy and grab it with both the hands'. These answers may be right on 99 out of 100 occasions. That one odd occasion may be here and the director who refused the offer is Virinchi Varma who directed films like Uyyala Jampala and Majnu.
Ram Mohan, who co-produced Virinchi’s debut film Uyyala Jampala, has asked him to direct Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana. Incidentally, Ram was the one who wrote the story of Soogade Chinni Naayana. But apparently Virinchi politely declined the offer stating that he cannot direct the stories which are written by some other people.
Soggade Chinni Nayana went to the lap of Kalyan Krishna and later it went on to become the biggest hit in Senior heroes back then. But then Virinchi proved himself with Majnu. The movie which released yesterday had a superb opening across the globe on its opening day. The movie had amassed around 2.5 Crore Share in Andhra Pradesh and Nizam which is his career best opening excluding Rajamouli's Eega. The actor is improving his box office potential with every more and that is visible clearly with Majnu as well.
