It has always been noticed that the role of a Hijra or Kojja is used more for comedy and satires in our films. It is only in very rare instances that a Hijra has been used as a villain. But for the first time, Lawrence had used the character of Hijra as a ghost and that ensured his film ‘Kanchana’ became a big hit.
The challenging role was done by Tamil star Sarath Kumar. Now, it is heard that Bollywood producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali has bought the remake rights of the film for Hindi and Lawrence will be directing the remake of ‘Kanchana’. The big suspense is, who will be re-enacting the role of Sarath Kumar.
