These days not even one film is staying out of controversies and now even Balupu film which got released yesterday joins this club. Just at the time when the makers of Balupu have been rejoicing the positive word of mouth for their mass entertainer, they got heat of displeasure from Nandamuri fans over a particular scene in the movie.
In one of the sequences in Balupu, Raviteja looks imitating Balakrishna and movie buffs enjoyed it. Although no direct reference has been made, fans of Balakrishna have been fuming at Ravi Teja, as it was more like a satire than regualr comedy scene. Balakrishna fans are deeply hurt with this scene which look like its directly targeted on Balakrishna.
However, Gopichand Malineni clarifies that the makers of 'Balupu' have no intention to degrade anyone. "I am a huge fan of Balakrishna garu. We haven't imitated him in Balupu at all. I personally appeal to the people not to think in a negative manner," states the director to media persons. Let’s see how Nandamuri fans take up this statement from Gopichand now and will it show any effect on Balupu box office collections.
