According to latest reports, 1971 Beyond Borders did make a business of 2.80 Crores on its opening day from Kerala alone. The film got released on 193 screens in Kerala with the fans show staring at 9 AM. Nothing much has been revealed about the all India collections of the movie.
Meanwhile there hasn't been any confirmation from the side of the makers
and if the above figures are true, it is a very mediocre start by the Mohanlal
featuring and the film has failed to beat the collection record of Mammootty's
The Great Father that fetched 4.31 Crores on Day 1.
