Sources have stated that cult '90s TV series, 'Baywatch', which featured David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, has now been recreated for the big screen. Dwayne Johnson has stepped into Hasselhoff's shoes and adding oomph to the beaches is Kelly Rohrbach, who is also seen in the recreated iconic slo-mo run. Priyanka Chopra makes her Hollywood debut as Victoria Leeds alongside Zac Efron.
Dwayne said, "We wanted to keep some of the core elements while raising the stakes for the film. The stunts are bigger and the action is more intense, but we're not taking ourselves as seriously as the show. We worked hard to find the right balance. Seth (Gordon, director) threaded the needle perfectly. As tough as the action in this movie is, we're all in on the joke.
He further said "We are laughing with Baywatch, not at it. We
wanted to raise the bar in terms of shocking humor. With comedies, there's
'fun', but way beyond that, at the top of the mountain, there's 'filthy fun.'
The film is 'lights out, game over, we may have to cancel Christmas' level
filthy fun."
'Baywatch', a Paramount Pictures presentation, distributed exclusively by Viacom18 Motion Pictures in India, releases in India on June 2.
