Yesteryear dreamgirl Sridevi, ruled south film industry till the 90s, after starting off slowly with Tamil and Telugu flicks and later entering Bollywood and after that, there was no turning back for her. She got married to producer Boney Kapoor, and post her marriage, she made a special comeback to films, playing the lead lady in Gauri Shinde's English vinglish.
The success of English Vinglish, prompted her to star in another movie Mom, about a mother taking revenge for her daughter's abuse. However, this movie failed, and later she moved on to the launch of her daughter Jahnvi Kapoor, with the upcoming romantic flick Dhadak directed by Shashank Khaitan and costarring Ishaan Khattar. This remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat is bankrolled by Ace producer/ director Karan Johar.
With news of makers trying to rope in Sridevi to play Jahnvi's mother in Dhadak, now Tollywood is abuzz with news that Maruthi and team have approached Sridevi to play the title role in his upcoming flick Sailaja Reddy Alludu, which was initially planned with Ramya Krishnan. Having acted already with Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Nagarjuna, let's see if Sridevi accepts the offer to complete acting with all Akkineni heroes.
