Nandamuri Balakrishna first donned the grease paint as a child artist in Tatamma Kala in 1974. His father Legend Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao played the lead role in the film and also directed it.
Balayya also acted in a handful of movies as Child artists and guest roles before making his debut as hero in 1984 with Sahasame Jeevitham movie and from then there is no looking back.
With his tremendous mass appeal and discipline derived from his great father, Balakrishna very soon elevated to the Top stars position in Tollywood. He is always a serious contender to Number one spot in his prime. He is currently nearing the 100th film mark. His current movie on sets, Legend is his 98th film. There is a talk he will be making his directional debut with his 100th film.
