Telangana New Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao is on a roll these days. TRS government is going aggressively on the unused lands which were previously allotted to private individuals. Recently government has taken back unused lands of Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation. And now they say the next target of KCR is Superstar Krishna. The government allotted the land in 1982 at a throwaway price at Filmnagar in Shaikpet mandal for construction of a studio. However Padmalaya Studios owned by Superstar Krishna has sold away five acres of the allotted nine acres to Zee Telefilms and 13 others. The government issued a show-cause notice to Padmalaya Studio in 2007 for resumption of the five acres but the latter went in appeal and won the case. The studio owners argue that the land was allotted it was their right to use it as per their wish. But the government maintained that the land was allotted for a specific purpose and no part of it could be alienated. TRS government is planning to take legal battle forward on the same lines. They are even investigating if Padmalaya Studios is really being used for film development or individuals interest. Currently, Padmalaya studio which is in 4 acres of land is valued at anywhere between Rs 350 and Rs 450 crore as per the prevailing market rates. It is known that TRS government has already marked the N-Convention of Nagarjuna as 'Unauthorized Construction'. The actor even approached the High court for relief but failed to obtain it.
