The judiciary seem to be Super fast for the rich and celebrities in the country. Actor Salman Khan was sentenced to 5 years of rigorous jail term a short while ago by a Mumbai Sessions Court. Since the sentence is above 3 years, Salman Khan had to go to the jail and appeal for bail petition in high court. But Salman Khan's lawyers rushed to the high court and filed the bail petition in few hours after the verdict.
Interestingly, courts take weeks and some times month to begin such trials or take up the petitions. But Bombay high court scheduled the hearing of the petition by 4PM today which is less than 3 hours after the the ruling of the Sessions Court. If Salman Khan manages to get bail from the high court, he can freely walk away to his house for the time being.
Salman Khan is booked under Section 304 Part II (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and is liable up to a maximum punishment of 10 years in jail. It may be reminded to our readers that the actor is alleged of ramming his car into a roadside shop in suburban Bandra, killing one person and injuring four people who were sleeping on the pavement on the night of September 28, 2002.
