RGV of violating exclusive copyright


Delhi High Court slapped Rs 10 lakh fine on RGV and his production house for intentionally and deliberately remaking 1975  blockbuster Sholay. Court found RGV of violating exclusive copyright of the film which was with the director Ramesh Sippy. 


Court delivered its judgement after Sascha Sippy, son and grand son of original producers Vijay Sippy and GP Sippy filed a law suit against RGV accusing him of violatinv exclusive copyright held by the Sholay Media and Entertainment.High Court fined RGV Rs 10 lakh punitive damages on his production house RGV Productions and Varma Corporation and restrained them from using Gabbar or Gabbar Singh character.
