Telangana Government is seriously thinking to overcome ongoing power crisis. There is a plan to bought 2000 MW Power from the Chhattisgarh. Raman Singh Government is willing to supply power as per Telangana requirement. Officials from both states to meet and discussed on finalizing power prices. Now it is the question whether to construct power line in Private and Public partnership or Telangana Government took the complete ownership.
There are many issues like expenditure, getting NOC certificate from Environment department and threat from Naxals for Telangana Government to construct separate line. It’s not possible for any state to construct separate power line on its own. It can possible to Telangana Government to construct power line from Chhattisgarh to cater needs. It can only possible when Telangana Government has its own Power Generation Project in Chhattisgarh.
There are many rules and regulations applicable for Telangana Government in this regard. Telangana might purchase Power from three or four companies in Chhattisgarh. It is learnt that one retired IAS officer has played vital role in favor of three Private Power Generation Projects. Reportedly, one official is working for Telangana Government in Delhi trying for another Private company in Chhattisgarh. Some of the Private Company representatives of Chhattisgarh forced the government officials for the contract.
